With the escalating social tensions in our country, he prioritizes creating an inclusive and open space for all people. Fahja hopes that he can passionately teach and work with creative minds to foster a safe and enjoyable learning experience for aspiring dancers and performers.
Fahja began his training in 2009, at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. After studying under the talented staff at Dutchess Community College, Fahja continued his dance training in New York City at reputable studios such as Broadway Dance Center, Alvin Ailey Extension, and Gibney Dance. Since 2016 Fahja has been a guest choreographer for Dutchess Community College, where he worked with college-level dancers creating new works for their Fall and Spring Dance Showcase. He has also had the opportunity to work with Danceworks New York City since the summer of 2019. DanceWorks New York City is the city's largest performance-based dance organization for advanced & technically trained dancers (18+) who want to continue choreographing and performing post-college and into adult life. In 2019 Fahja was hired to be a choreographer for a film, A Fairy Tale After All, a story about a stubborn teenage girl who finds herself confronted by whimsical characters when she is transported into a world of fantasy. The film was released May of 2022.
Beyond choreographing, Fahja has performed and danced in various productions such as Fame the Musical (2013) as Tyrone Jackson, In The Heights (2014) in the ensemble, The Nutcracker (2014) as the Candy Cane Prince and Spanish Prince, and other dance shows and musicals in the Hudson Valley and New York City. In 2016 Fahja had his New York City debut as a dancer with a New York City-based dance company, marked dance project. Marked dance project is a modern-based dance company that works with disabled and non-disabled dancers. Fahja worked with MDP for three years, dancing and teaching at different venues and schools in New York and New Jersey. While dancing with MDP, Fahja was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to teach a few master dance classes, most notably would be a contemporary master class taught at The Julliard School in 2016. Throughout his time with marked dance project, Fahja danced in three full-length dance shows; Stories: A Memoir Through Movement (2016), Collide (2017), and Broken/Open (2019), all three shows premiered in New York City.
After a small hiatus due to the pandemic Fahja was hired by RWS as a dancer for The Charlie Brown Christmas Spectacular and Winterfest Wonderland Parade at Carowinds. Shortly after completing his contract with RWS, Fahja signed with GL Berg Entertainment and was offered a contract through Norwegian Creative Studios. As Fahja advances in his career he hopes to continue sharing the stage and classroom with nurturing and passionate individuals.
